This place has the odd feature of not having a phone and not taking reservations. No sign out front either. Just their address 48 and an open sign when they are open. Which is only 5 to 9 on weekdays. The food was excellent and the wine list a bit limited. One small peeve. I ordered foie gras, which turned out be duck, not goose.
Definately on a downhill spiral. Took visiting family there..three of us ordered the lamb MEDIUM .. waited forever. They brought tough raw undercooked.. we asked to cook more very politely and reluctantly... brought it back they returned the same.... they sent the manager over who was rude, confronting and said it was medium cooked he "inspected personally" . i showed him photo (as waitress had taken away dishes) he said well, "medium pink"... I said it's raw! He said well we agree to disagree. Acted as if we were not capable of discerning medium versus raw.. Overpriced and long waits. And to be rude to my visiting family! the waitress was lovely and we tipped her and I told him he lost long time frequent and faithful customer. NEVVVVVER AGAIN! So sad LOOK AT THE PHOTO!
Best meal I've had in Vero. The basic explanation of hospitality. Kudos kitty's you guys are above and beyond thank you so much
I knew going to the restaurant for the first time the menu was limited. The only thing I could’ve eaten they ran out of so I was forced to order an overpriced salad and soup served in an oversized round dish. Had a glass of wine total was over $55.00! The total bill was over $300. I left unimpressed and starving.!
The duck is excellent. Service attentive but not intrusive. The atmosphere is intimate with a bar area allowing full view of the kitchen. A hidden gem in Vero Beach.
Disappointing as the snapper special was overly drenched in sauces. $48 entree and it was barely edible. It’s a shame as we have gone every season but won’t be back. And judging by the unusual lack of people in the restaurant, others may have already figured out the drop in quality
One of my favorite restaurants in all the world! An imaginative menu all prepared by the owner-chef, Kitty Wagner.. The menu varies from day to day, as the chef prepares what she can buy locally. Everything i have eaten there is amazing. There is a good wine list. The kitchen is part of the resturant. If you are fortunate enough to eat at the counter you can see your meal, and others as they are prepared. It is a great show. The staff is pleasant and professional. If you are in Vero Beach, be sure to go there. Be sure to go early as there are no reservations.
No sign on the building. Walked in 5:45 and sat at the bar. Enjoyed 2 salads and 2 orders of the scallops 😋 First time customers. Daniel the bartender very good with wine and menu choices
